GARRY GEKHMAN - World Vice Champion

Garry Gekhman was born in Russia, and started dancing at the age of six. He quickly became a top competitor in the USSR. He immigrated to Israel in 1990 and continued his dancing career. An active Pro/Am teacher of students at all levels, Garry has students who are successful competitors, placing in finals in many championships in the U.S. and Canada. In the past he has coached the Princeton University Ballroom Team for two years, and is fluent in English, Russian and Hebrew. In 1999, he moved to New Jersey, USA, and is presently located in Virginia. Garry is available for private lessons and coaching specializing in International Style Ballroom.

 

 
 

ACHIEVEMENTS

• 7 times undefeated Israeli Ballroom, Latin, 10-dance, and Show Dance champions.
• 2001: U.S. Rising Star Ballroom couple of the year.
• The only U.S. couple to become Closed and Open to the World Rising Star Champions the same year (2003).
• 2003: Represented the U.S. in the World Show Dance Championship in Milan.
• 2003: Finalists in U.S. National Professional 10-dance Championships (fifth place).
• 2003: Second in U.S. National Show Dance Championships.
• 2003: Finalists in International Championships Rising Stars Ballroom.
